The Team
Laura - Head Trainer
I began working with dogs back in 2017 as an assistant to one of the best trainers in the area and in 2019 I took the leap and began training alongside my dog walking business.
I bring kindness and compassion to my training sessions, not only for the dogs but for their humans too. When we first get a dog we have all the ideas and expectations of what we want from this new partner and sometimes it doesn’t always work out that way. It’s always an honour and a privilege to work with you and help get your relationship with you dog back on track.
I love to learn and I’m always keen to learn from other trainers and organisations. I chose to be officially qualified with the IMDT as it is the largest and most well respected training organisation in the UK. In order to qualify with them I had to endure a very challenging 2 day assessment and I’m very proud to have gained a membership offer with distinction. I’m currently training with the School of Canine Science, undertaking their level 6 canine behaviour qualification. In the past I’ve also trained with AbsoluteDogs, Trevor Cooper dog law and Ogilvie dogs. I also regularly attend training sessions with local trainers to train my own dogs.

Naomi - Assistant Trainer
Naomi is our assistant trainer. You’ll meet her in puppy classes and helping out in workshops. She’s a qualified vet nurse and works in a local vet practice.
Oscar
At 10 years old Oscar has hung up his running shoes, he’s been my canicross buddy since I adopted him in 2016. We’ve run a marathon together and even done a triathlon, he’s tried his paw at hoopers, agility, tracking and scent work. In his retirement he’ll be keeping his nose busy doing scentwork and mantrailling. He also occasionally takes up the role of stooge dog in training sessions, helping other dogs gain confidence in the big wide world. He’s also a very good snuggle buddy.
Brenin
He’s young and full of enthusiasm, we’re still figuring out what we’re going to be doing together and I’m really excited to see what sort of dog he matures into. Currently we canicross together, train for agility and flyball. I love his optimism and he’s always ready to crack out a toy and play. He’s got a super fast recall but sitting still and waiting his turn is not his strong point.
Our Training Ethos
We’re proud to use rewards based training.
In reality this means we find ways to reward a dog for something we want them to do rather than punishing them for something they haven’t been taught how to do properly in the first place.
Our training takes a holistic approach and considers a wide range of factors that can influence a dogs behaviour. We work with dogs and humans as a team giving you the owners the skills and confidence to build happy dogs and have the best relationship possible with your dog.
We would never use pain or fear to get your dog to do something, instead we take the time to understand your dog and find out what motivates them and use that to reward when they get it right. Training should be fun and enjoyable for everyone.
